‍Better work begins with understanding.

When I first received a message asking if I’d be interested in helping train artificial intelligence, my immediate reaction was simple:

Why would I want to help create something that might replace me?

At the time, I had recently been laid off from my position as Executive Editor of CompanyWeek. Like many writers and journalists, I wondered what AI would mean for my profession—and for my own future.

Curiosity got the better of me.

‍I accepted the opportunity and spent the next two years helping train some of the world’s most advanced AI models as a writing specialist. Every day, I evaluated responses, identified strengths and weaknesses, and helped improve how AI communicates, reasons, and learns.

‍The experience changed my perspective.

The more I learned about AI, the more I realized that the real opportunity wasn’t replacing people. It was helping people do their best work. ‍

That realization led me to AI consulting.

Not because I was fascinated by technology for its own sake, but because I recognized something familiar. Throughout my career, I’ve been drawn to work that helps people navigate complexity, make informed decisions, and communicate more effectively. AI offered a powerful new way to help people do exactly that.

A career built on curiosity, creativity, and communication

Although AI consulting is the newest chapter of my career, it isn’t where my story began.

‍For more than twenty years, I’ve worked as a journalist, editor, and communications professional, interviewing executives, exploring complex topics, and translating ideas into clear, meaningful communication. Along the way, I’ve also served in organizational leadership roles, helping guide strategy, improve operations, and support teams through periods of growth and change.

‍Looking back, I can see three threads connecting every role I’ve held.

Curiosity. Creativity. Communication.

‍I’ve always been happiest when I can ask thoughtful questions, see both the big picture and the small details, connect ideas, and help people move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

‍AI consulting brings all of those strengths together.

My Philosophy

‍I don’t believe organizations need AI simply because it’s new. I believe they need thoughtful guidance that helps them understand where AI can create meaningful value—and where it can’t.

‍Technology should support people, not overwhelm them. And the greatest value of AI isn’t replacing talented people but freeing them to spend more time doing the work that requires human judgment, creativity, collaboration, and expertise.

‍That’s why every engagement begins the same way.

‍I listen.

I ask thoughtful questions.

I seek to understand.

Only then do I recommend solutions.

Why AIvolution?

I chose the name AIvolution because I believe AI isn’t simply changing the tools we use. It’s changing the way we work.

‍The organizations that thrive won’t necessarily be the ones using the most AI. They’ll be the ones that thoughtfully integrate it into their everyday work, support their people as they learn, and continue adapting as technology evolves.

‍My goal is to help clients make that transition with clarity, confidence, and practical strategy.

Beyond Consulting

‍Outside of my consulting practice, I’m a visual artist and nonprofit leader. Although those pursuits may seem different from AI consulting, they draw on many of the same skills: observation, curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to see new possibilities.

‍Whether I’m helping an organization rethink a workflow or standing in front of a blank canvas, the process begins the same way—with paying attention.
